Pasar Seni (also known as Central Market) is a centre of cultural, heritage, arts and craftmanship. Originally Pasar Seni was a wet market in 1888. It was built by Yap Ah Loy, the infamous city's Chinese Kapitan. Pasar Seni gradually grew and developed into an enormous and fine market as we see today. If you prefer an open air shopping, just exit.
